It starts in the street!
The Museum of Printing and Graphic Communication makes it happen Avec, Gérard Paris-Clavel
During the month of October, you will be able to discover these four posters in the city of Lyon, at tram stops, in the metro, and if you keep your eyes open, on the Place Bellecour and at Cordeliers, a stone’s throw from the museum.
These large posters are the work of Gérard Paris-Clavel, the celebrated—and committed—French graphic designer to whom we are dedicating our next temporary exhibition.
Playing with images and words, Gérard Paris-Clavel challenges us on current social issues.
This voluntary intervention in the public space will be complemented by an exhibition custom-made by himself and by Isabel de Bary, the curator of the exhibition.
Within the walls of the museum, the various aspects of his creative work will be addressed, as lived with others, in their own words, with their hopes, their struggles and where and how they live. The practices of the graphic designer and the printer will be brought together, illustrating the richness of the dual identity of the Museum of Printing and Graphic Communication.
