The Joh. Enschedé Fellowship programme encourages research into the unique and extensive collection of the former Museum Enschedé, the company museum of Royal Joh. Enschedé, formerly Joh. Enschedé and Sons. The activities of this company spanned over three centuries of printing, publishing, typefounding and security printing such as banknotes and stamps. The collection reflects the history of the company, its products and its place within the industry. Since 2015, the Joh. Enschedé collection has been managed by the Noord-Hollands Archief in Haarlem (for centres of gravity within the collection, see https://noord-hollandsarchief.nl/enschede-collecties).
Researchers are invited to submit applications for the year 2023. Priority will be given to proposals in the field of Hebrew typography, graphic production and printing, or the relationship between Royal Joh. Enschedé and the Jewish community in Haarlem.
The Fellowship offers 1,000 euros per month.
The application deadline is 1 June 2023. Applications should be sent by e-mail to the secretary of the selection committee, Patrick Vlegels (Patrick.Vlegels@noord-hollandsarchief.nl).
