Registration is now open for the 2016 Lyon book history workshop.

The Lyon-based Institut d’histoire du livre organises an annual summer workshop in Lyon, whose purpose is to improve skills in the interpretation and understanding of specific fields relating to our written and printed heritage. Classes are conducted both as seminars at the enssib university, with a workbook and ample visual material, and as practical hands-on sessions involving original rare and precious material held at the Lyon museum of printing and graphic communication and at the City library.
The 2016 session comprises of 4 courses taught respectively by Monique Hulvey, Kristian Jensen, Neil Harris and Sébastien Morlighem.

The courses are aimed at a large range of specialists (scholars, curators, lecturers, artisans, librarians, booksellers, collectors, graphic designers, doctoral students…) who encounter questions related to the history of the book, printing and graphic communication in the course of their work.
In order to facilitate access to collections and ‘hands-on’ study of original documents, each course is limited to 12 students.
Course fees (one course – 4 days):
Full price: 500 euros Student price: 300 euros
The course fees include the provision of study materials, a welcome cocktail and tea/coffee breaks. It does not include meals and accommodation.
